育てる場所。育てられる場所。
A place that grows things, and is grown by them.
Deep in the mountains, far from the noise: makers rooted in Higashiyoshino, Nara, curated by Okuyama House.
Makers.Higashiyoshino is a gathering of makers who have put down roots in this village — potters, a tea grower, woodworkers, dyers and others — held at Okuyama House twice a year, spring and autumn.
It began with the open atelier of 2023, when Okuyama House opened its grounds to people it had come to know; there is no open call, and the members set up the grounds themselves, each bringing what they can.
Each gathering shows where everyone's work is at that moment, so no two are alike.
Next: 8–9 November 2026, 10:00–16:00, at Okuyama House. Program, makers and workshop bookings are on the Makers site; news on Instagram @makers.higashiyoshino.
